Knights of Columbus Council 10232 provides assistance in several different ways. One of the ways we provide assistance is through our Scholarship programs. The Knights provide two College scholarships, one graduating 8th grade scholarship to assist in attending Catholic High, Tuition assistance to St John the Baptist school, along with Priesthood and Seminarian assistance. The Knights offer two $500 College scholarships to graduating High School Seniors. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must fill out the Application and turn it in before May 1, 2008. These scholarship are open to graduating senior of council members and the St John the Baptist Parish. Click here to download the Application in Word Format. The Knights offer one $500 scholarship to a graduating 8th grader that plans on attending Catholic High. The awarding of this scholarship is handled by Mr. Bridges, the schools Principal, and other members of the St John's School faculty. This year the Knights provided $500 to the tuition assistance program at St John the Baptist school. These funds are provide to help families who might not other wise be able to send their children to the school. The Knights collect an additional $5 from each member every year for the Alabama Priesthood scholarship fund. This year we expect to donate more than $1000. Over the past few years Council 10232 has supported a Seminarian from the Diocese of Birmingham. All the money used to provide these scholarships and financial support is raised by the council through out the year. The council holds several benefit dinners through out the year. They also sell tickets to the Huntsville Stars baseball game in July of each year, along with several other activities through out the year. The council has just recently started an Online Shopping Mall as a means of raising additional funds. Page Last Updated: 03/21/2008 |
